“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV 1900)

Do you realize the power that the Bible has? This Book is holy, inspired, and perfect. The Bible is not only a helpful book, but it contains the answers to all the world’s problems. I hope as you read this blog you realize how great the Bible is; decide to take the Bible serious, studying and living it; and see the impact you can have on the world if you do so.

We see in the text that we have, “A more sure word of prophecy.” That means we right now have the best prophecy, or book ever available to man. The prophets of the Old Testament never had a completed text, the apostles never had a completed text, and every other religion doesn’t have a perfect and inspired Book from their God. We can have confidence knowing that we have the best book!

Since we have the best book, now we need to,” Take heed, “ to this prophesy (Bible.) We need to be in the Bible, studying and living it. And we need to do this,” As a light that shineth in a dark place.” We live in a dark world where sin is everywhere, but since we have the perfect and inspired Word of God we can be a light in this world. If we are in the word and living the word we will be a light that will bring many people out of darkness.

What more can we do as Christians? Being a light where you are is very important, but do you realize that there are many who do not have nor have access to this great prophecy? In Proverbs 29:18, it says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” The word vision in this text is another word for prophesy. So where there is no prophesy the people perish. There are people all over the world who are dying never getting an opportunity to hear the truth about God and His Word. Will you consider dedicating your life to missions to reach a world who have never heard, who do not have the opportunity that you have to be taught the Bible?

What will you do?
