This is the place consisting of the most revered temples, monasteries, and religious experiences. This is the place known as the “gateway to the gods” and is one of the holiest pilgrimage centers for Hindus. This place is the city of Haridwar, UK.

Haridwar is home to over 300,000 people and welcomes millions of pilgrims, as it is one of the four places where Kumbh Mela is held, which is the largest religious gathering in the world. The city is of major religious and historical importance. It is believed that when Brahma created the world, drops of nectar fell upon Haridwar. From then on, it became the city of salvation and immortality.

Every night in Haridwar, something occurs. It is called the Ganga Aarti. Hundreds of villagers and tourists will gather along the Ganges river banks and sing praises, offer prayers and incense, and worship the river. Furthermore, they will bathe in the waters of the river in hopes that their sins will be forgiven and they will escape the cycle of rebirth.

Hindus enter the city of Haridwar searching for something. They are searching for some religious experience that will fulfill their souls. They are searching for answers. They are searching for assurance that they will be at peace in their next lives. However, the truth is that they will never find what they are looking for in Haridwar, the Ganges river, or the religion they have known their whole lives.

Please be in prayer that the message and salvation of Jesus Christ will reach the people of Haridwar, that they may know the truth they are so desperately searching for.
